A useful aid to help you prepare to discuss pseudobulbar affect (PBA) with your doctor.
If you suspect that you have or someone you care for has pseudobulbar affect (PBA), the following questions may help you prepare for your next doctor’s visit and make it a more productive one.
Do you think I have pseudobulbar affect (PBA)?
Please note that your doctor may know pseudobulbar affect (PBA) by another name, such as emotional lability, pathological crying and laughing, or emotional incontinence.
Do you need to do any tests to confirm whether I have pseudobulbar affect (PBA)?
Your doctor may have you complete a short questionnaire or may simply ask you questions about your emotional episodes.
