I went to Church with my husband and Mother-in-law to be closer to them. I was fine until we got up off our knees from praying and it hit(the uncontrolled laughter). I went out into the hallway and waited for the service to be over. Needles to say, I haven't been back. I worked at an Elementary School for fourteen years, everyone in the school new of my uncontrolled laughing, it was just hard to explain. I was so glad to see a name for it after all of these years. I asked numerous doctors about it, they just always told me "don't to take life so serious." That's what I've been living with. My first husband hated it when sitting at the table having dinner, I would burst out laughing. Two years ago we had my son and granddaughter over for Thanksgiving dinner, when my granddaughter was saying the blessing, what did I do? start laughing! Really hard to explain to a ten year old, when you don't really know what it is yourself. I could go on and on about stories, but I will stop her for now. Please others share your stories about dealing with PBA. JLC

For some time now, it has been disturbing to me that while talking about things, not necessarily sad, I have begun to cry inexplicably. I do find stopping and breathing slower, "pulling myself together" helps but I was not falling apart in the first place! Out of nowhere, I was broadsided! Very frustrating. I do also have MS.
